The Redbird's story.

Elliot felt the rag slide off of her forehead but made no move to get it. She had her eyes closed still, facing away from Tyler.

Tyler started to cough in his sleep. Mickey sighed again. The cottage door opened and Joe walked in he walked up the shairs. "Is he okay?" He asked

Mickey shock her head 'no'. "Yes." She said not wanting to scared Elliot. Joe seemed to get the point.

Elliiot sighed in relief. She wasn't sleeping but she was fading in and out. She reached out and grabbed Tyler's hand, not fully aware she was doing it.

"Can you please go get some more water please, Joie?" Mickey asked. "I'll start a fire so you can boil it when you get back."

"And Matt? What is he being froced to do?" Joie asked.

"Herbs."

Joie sighed and left.

Elliot was still fading in and out of conciousness and didn't really pay attention to what they were saying.

Mickey walked out of the room and walked down shairs and started a fire.

Elliot opened her eyes a few moments later, a cold sweat breaking out on her forehead. She looked around, trying to remember where she was.

Tyler was still in an unnarual sleep.

After the fire was burning Mickey walked back upshairs and to her room were the kids were in.

Elliot sighed in relief when she remembered where she was, but frowned when she saw Tyler again. She looked at Mickey when she walked back in the room.

Mickey smiled at Elliot. "Feeling any better?" She asked.

Elliot nodded. "A little," she said quietly, not sure how long she had even been here. The room started spinning again and she closed her eyes tightly.

"Lay back down" Mickey said.

Joie walked back into the cottage and started boiling the water.

Elliot nodded and lay back down silently. She looked at Tyler.

Mickey put the damp rag back o Elliot's head.

Elliot didn't move or say anything when Mickey put the rag back on her forehead. She sighed, glancing at Tyler again.

Mickey sat on the floor.

It been at least ten minutes when Matt finally made it back with the herbs.

"Geez Matt." Mickey hread Joie say who still down shairs. "What took so long?"

Mickey ran down shairs and took the herbs. "Joie be nice, It's not his fault the girl he just happens to be courting is the herbalist's daughter." She said with a giggle.

Elliot didn't really know what courting meant as she listened to them talk downstairs. She opened her eyes and looked at Tyler, scooting closer to him.

Mickey put some boiling water into two cups.

She walked up shairs with the hot water, Matt following her with the herbs.

Joie went to go help Mickey's father in the feilds.

Mickey set the cups down on her trunk her hands warm. Matt handed her the herds and she started mixig them in with the water.

Elliot was really close to Tyler now, and opened her eyes, watching Mickey.

When mickey was done she walk towards he bed. "has to cool." She said.

"What's courting mean?" Elliot asked suddenly, looking up at Mickey.

Mickey was taken back for a moment. "Well it's um- Matt you tell her." She said trying to hold back laguhter.

Matt had a slight pink to his cheeks. "Well umm trying to become more then friends with someone." He hoped he expailned it right for a little kids ears.

"More than friends? Like what?" She asked, curious.

Mickey couldn't help it she laguhed. "matt your doing an awful job!"

"Yeah." Matt said to Mickey. "Well umm." He said to elliot thinking for a few momets.

Mickey walked back over to the cups the cooled enough she picked up one and handed it to elliot hopeing the nasty taste would get her mind of the courting thing.

Elliot took the cup and sat up slowly. She was still watching Matt, waiting for an answer before she drank it.
