The Redbird's story.

"How've you been?" Elliot asked quietly, still looking away.

"Fine." Blake said looking the other way as well.

"That's good," Elliot said. She glanced at him quickly then looked away again.

"Well...goodnight," she said, and ran back to her cottage and inside.

"Wait, don't go." HE said under his breath knowing she wouldn't hear him.

Elliot was already inside by the time Blake spoke, fresh tears making their way to her eyes.

'It's obvioius now he doesn't want to be my friend anymore....he wouldn't talk to me or even look me in the eyes,' she thought.

Blake trunned around and walked back home.

He walked inside and pass the rest.

Elliot had gone back upstairs and layed back down in her bed, falling asleep moments later.

Cora looked up as Blake came back in but said nothing to him.

Layla watched Blake go by.

Sally watch as well.

Blake sat in the coner were his Blankets and pillow was thrown, he was to old to sleep with anyone, and they had no place to put another ad they couldn't afford one. So he sleept on the floor on the first floor.

Cora got up and went upstairs without another word to anyone.

Layla got up and took the plates and put them in the sink.

Sally didn't move.

Blake layed back on his pillow crying slilent tears.

Momi was sitting on her bed.

Cora took out her diary and sat on her bed, writing.

Sally went upstairs and went into their room and layed on her bed staring at the ceiling. She was still thinking about what their momi had said. 'why would momi want to leave blake up in the mountains?', she thought.

Layla stayed downstairs for a few minutes.

Blake sat up and grabed layla's wrist. "Do you hate me?" He asked softly.

Layla looked at Blake whne he grabbed her wrist. "No", she said, "why do you ask?"

Blake smiled and shock his head, and stood up. Hehugged layla/ "Goodnight."

Layla hesitated but hugged him back. "good night", she said.

Blake smiled and sat down on the floor were he sleept now. "Pleasent dreams." He said.

Layla smiled slightly and started to go up the stairs. "You too", she said and went into the rom she shairs with Cora and Sally.

Blake binked. 'did Layla just smile?' He asked himself.

Cora soon put her diary under her pillow and layed down, falling asleep almost instantly.

Layla changed into her nightgown and climbed into bed. 'what did blake hug me for?' she thought but shrugged it off and soon fell asleep.

Sally fell asleep after a while.

Tyler was tempted to go sleep in the hay, he hadn't done that in five years.



**The next morning.**

Blake woke up. With a yawn he sat up and looked around.

Tyler sat up his face bright red, it was only dawn so why was he awake?

Sally woke up but didn't move.

Layla was still asleep.
