The Redbird's story.

Tyler laguh silghtly. "I'll be fine." HE said looking down at her, finally lettig her see that his face was red with fever.

"Ty, your face is all red!" Elliot exclaimed. "You have a fever. You can't sleep in the barn tonight, you have to sleep inside," She said.

"I can sleep were ever I like." Tyler said, still not notcieing what she called him.

"Fine, then I'll just follow you and make sure you sleep inside tonight," Elliot said, folding her arms across her chest stubbornly.

"And your mother will kill me if she finds out you were in the rain with me, so, go home." Tyler said being just as stubborn.

"Promise you'll sleep inside," Elliot pressed on.

"I promise nothing!" Tyler said he was becomeing dizzy.

Elliot changed her tactic.

"Ty, please?" She asked, looking up at him sadly.

Tyler sat back on the ground holding his head. "No. I like sleeping in the hay."

"You're sick!" Elliot protested. "Please, I don't want you to get sick," She said, not sitting down again. It was raining harder now.

"It doesn't matter. Go home, I'll go in a few minutes." Everything was spinning and he didn't think he woukd make it home.

"No," Elliot said, plopping down on the ground next to him. "I don't leave until you do," she said, folding her arms across her chest.

He felt like he was about to faint, but Elliot to leave beforehe did. "I promise I'll sleep inside, just go." He fever was getting wrost.

Elliot glanced at him. "No!" She repeated.

"please, little one. I could't bare it if you also got sick." Tyler said trying to stand up again.

"But I don't want to leave without you," Elliot said, though she was starting to feel strange.

Tyler sighed. ''The truth is I don't think I'm gonna make it home. And I don't want you to be stuck with me in the rain, so, please go."

"You're gonna make it home, come on!" Elliot said. She took his hand and tried to pull him up. It was hard since she was so much smaller. The rain was coming down as hard as it was earlier now.

Tyler stood up. Not saying anything

"Come on!" Elliot said, taking his hand and practically dragging him towards his house. The dirt road was slippery with mud.

He let himself be draged. He couldn't see right, and was tripping alot.

Elliot kept pulling him. "Come on, Tyler," She said, sounding worried. "Keep going, you're alright," she said.

His eyes closed and he fell to the ground. When he landed he woke up and stood back up. He saw Elliots cottage just ahead. "GO! I will make it back to my home alright. ok?"

Elliot shook her head. "No! You just fell! You're not going to make it back alright alone!" She cried, tears in her eyes though you couldn't see because of the pouring rain.

"Then at leat you go home." Tyler said He try walk alittle ways.
