The Redbird's story.

"I promise. I'll play with you whe I get better." Tyler said.

"When?" Elliot asked, looking at him again.

"I don't know." Tyler admited.

Elliot looked away. She didn't know what time it was or if she should go home or not. Instead she looked away again, closing her bright blue eyes tightly. She curled back up under the covers in a small ball, tightly, her eyes still closed. She didn't want to say anything.

The cup dropedIt hit the floor hard. The clay cup broke.

Tyler had finted again.

Elliot looked up and saw Tyler. She didn't try to wake him again. She walked over to the other side of the bed and started picking up the pieces of the cup. She winced when one cut her finger. She watched as a drop of blood fell to the ground, followed by another. She didn't try to stop the bleeding. She gathered up the pieces of the cup.

Matt and Joie ran up the shairs. They had just etered the cottage and hread the cup break.

"What happened?" Matt asked.

"He fainted whle he was drinking the medicine," Elliot said, the pile of shards in her small cupped hands.

Matt nodded. And bent over Tyler. He grabed his wrist and held it tightly.

"What if we tried Blood letting?" He asked Joie.

"NO!" Elliot said. "I mean, my mom always told me that that is more dangerous than good," she quickly fumbled, still holding the sharp shards in her small hands.

Joie didn't say anything just yet.

"Shut up Girl!" Matt yelled. "You don't know anything, if anything you are makeing Tyler wrost!"

Joie spoke a moment later. "She's right you know." He said softly.

"You're the one who was saying he was going to die!!" Elliot yelledback at Matt, closing her fists around the shards. She felt them pierece her skin and she quickly dropped them, blood dripping from her hands.

"Of crouse he's gonna die! There is no hope for him! At least with the Blood let he would be able to die more peacefully!" Matt yelled back at the girl.

Joie stood near the door not sure what to do.

"So you want to /kill/ him?!" Elliot demanded, taking a step towards him. "There's still hope!! There's always hope!!" She yelled. "I'm not going to let him just die, and I'm not going to let you kill him!"

"Kill him? How is a blood letting gona kill him? It will make the pain less!" Matt said dropping Tylers wrist.

"No it won't!" Elliot yelled. "My daddy was a doctor, at least he helped those where they used to live before I was born, and mommy told me that he said blood letting didn't do any good!" Elliot yelled, standing in front of Tyler now.

"I don't care what your daddy was, or what your mama says. It has nothing to do with this!" matt yelled.

Joie touched his brothers shoulder. "Matt, please."

Matt kocked Joie away.

"Please don't do this," Elliot said. "He still has hope! He talked to me a few times, he sat up on his own! Blood letting will just kill him, please!!" She cried.

Joie sat up from were he had been knocked on the floor.

"I don't have hope! I have none if that /stuff/!" matt yelled.

"I won't let you, no!!" Elliot cried, spreading out her arms as if to protect Tyler from Matt's intention of blood letting. Her hands were still bleeding themselves.

"You are just alittle girl, what do you know?" Matt said. He wanted to help tyler in anyway he could. And the Blood letting was the only thing he could think of, it's not his fault that he was raised to believe blood letting was a good way to help.

"I know plenty!" Elliot said, growing angry.

"Not eough!" Matt yelled. "You are makeing things wrost Elliot! Don't you understand?" Matt said.

Joie stood up.

"No, I don't!" Elliot yelled. "I'll never understand grownups! You never hope, do you?" She cried. "Out of everyone I thought you would have /some/ hope about Tyler, but no! None of you did, you just gave up!" She yelled. Suddenly she grew dizzy again and fell over onto the ground.

Joie had been walking over to the bed was able to cacth elliot.

Matt walked out of the room slaming the door behind him.

Joie picked the little girl up and he sat on the windowstill her in his lap. The sun was setting out side
