The Redbird's story.

"Yes," Elliot said. She drank the meidicne and handed the cup back to Mickey.

Cora sighed. "Yes," she said, and turned and went outside, the apple still in her hands.

Mickey took the cup. "Why?! That will only hurt you in the end. Don't you see that."

She looked at Tyler. The red has disapered. He still had a high fever, but his face was drained of color. He already looked dead.

Elliot said nothing and curled back up on teh bed, closing her eyes again.

"Elliot? Don't you see he's gonna die?" She said tears in her eyes. She didn't want him to die, but she was old enough to under stand more then Elliot.

Elliot didn't say anything, pretending to be asleep.

"You need to face that fact." Mickey said before walking out.

Elliot started crying softly as soon as Mickey was gone.

Mickey walked out of the cottage.

Elliot continued crying.

Elliot's mother was home now, eating dinner alone.

Tyler was once again lost in the darkness. It was calling him it was peaceful and nice.

Elliot looked up at Tyler a few moments later.

'No, he can't die,' she thought. 'If he dies I don't want to live.'

"Ty," Elliot said, shaking his shoulders softly.

he was falling deeper and deeper.

"Tyler, please," Elliot said. She didn't know it but another tear had fallen on his cheek.

He couldn't seem to get ahold of life for long but he was able open his eyes long enough to say "Stop crying."

"Ty!" Elliot said. "No, I won't stop, not until you're okay," she said, her voice cracking as she cried more.

"please" he said nodding off.

"No!" Elliot repeated, more tears falling onto him. She wiped them away but more just came.

tyler froced himself to sit up.

"Oh, here!" Elliot said, handing him the cup of medicine Mickey had brought in. "She told me to give you this."

Tyler took the cups with shakeing hands.

Elliot placed her smaller hands over his, helping him steady the cup.

Tyler brought the cup to his lips and drank it without tasteing it.

Elliot watched Tyler.

"They keep telling me you're gonna die," She said quietly. "You're not, are you?" She asked, looking up at him, pleading with her eyes.

Tyler didn't say anything, and didn't look at Elliot.

Elliot looked away. She was feelin better now, and wanted to go home. If he was going to die, she didn't want to see it. But she didn't want to leave him either.
