The Redbird's story.

Elliot finally caught up to him, breathing hard.

"Blake," she panted. "You okay?"

Cora flinched when Tyler started whistling, but said nothing. She leaned back in the grass.

Blake nodded. Saying nothing.

Tyler stopped whistleing and sat up. He looked at Cora. "I would love to have a little sibling. It's not fun to be the youngest, you know." He said truthfully.

Cora almost laughed. "You can have Blake," She said simply, not opening her eyes.

"Are you sure?" Elliot asked. "You haven't talked all day and you were hurt. I was confused because Cora said you went home but then you showed up with Tyler, and then--" she realized she was going on like she often did and was quiet again. "I miss your voice," she added sadly.

Blake almost said something but instead he looked away.

Tyler laguhed. "He is already like a brother to me, but I couldn't take him because I know deep down you be heart broken if any was to happen to him."

Elliot looked at Blake.

"Blake, please talk to me," she said sadly.

Cora almost laughed.

"You can think whatever you'd like," she said. "But I don't care."

Blake looked at her ad kept walking. "Why sould I?"

Tyler shock his head. he knew he was right.

"When will you admit it?" He asked. 'You sercetly love your brother."

Elliot caught up to Blake. "Because I'm your friend," She said, tears in her eyes now.

Cora opened her eyes and sat up. She rolled her eyes.

"I don't even /like/ him," She said.

Tyler looked toughtful a moment. Thinking wasn't something he didn't do much, he rather sleep and dream, then be wake and thinking.

"Did you know Blake looks up to you?" He finally said.

Blake looked at Elliot. "Please don't cry" he said softly.

Cora blinked in surprise. "He does?" She said.

Elliot shook her head. "I'm not crying," she said. "But please, tell me what's wrong," she said. "You haven't talked at all today."

Tyler nodded. It was the truth.

"Lier." He said. "I saw the tears." He bit his lip then said. "And I don't matter."

Cora shook her head. "Lier," she said, laying back down in the grass.

"What do you mean, you don't matter?" Elliot said. "Of course you matter! You're one of my best friends!"

Blake glared at Elliot, but said nothing.

"Why would /I/ lie to you?!" Tyler asked

Elliot soon grew angry. "Forget it!" She yelled. "I don't care anymore! Do whatever you want!!" She yelled, crying now. She turned and ran as fast as her short legs could take her back to her house.

Cora shrugged. "I don't know," she said. She opened her eyes and sat up again.

"Wait." Blake called running after her, he couldn't cacth up. He was shorter then her at that moment in time. It wouldn't be till aroud age 10 that he grew taller then her.

Tyler smiled at cora. "Why do you refuse to believe me?"

Elliot heard Blake but didn't stop running. She kept going as fast as she could.

Cora glared at Tyler. "Because Blake doesn't look up to me. I'm not stupid. He doesn't like me," she said. "But I don't like him either."

Tyler laguhed. "You'll see one day. That he does love you as a sister."

Blake kept running after her till he triped and fell.

Elliot didn't stop until she reached her house. Her mom was still out, she would be until around dinnertime. Elliot ran inside, slamming the door behind her. She leaned against the door and cried.

Cora glared at him when he laughed. "Whatever you say," she said.

Tyler looked down the road. He wacthed as Elliot ran pass crying. He stood up and made a mocking bow. "Well I must go and make the crying little one smile." He said before running off towards Elliots cottage.

Cora sighed. 'Blake,' she thought. She looked around but didn't see him.

Elliot sat on the ground by the door, still crying.

Blake sat on the side of the road crying. Papa came by and saw him. He picked him up and walked back to the cottage. He would ask one of Blake's sisters why Blake had so many scars on his face later.

Tyler knocked on Elliots door. "Elliot?"

Elliot thought it was Blake. "What?" She snapped.

Cora stayed with her sisters.

"ARe you okay Elliot? I saw you running and crying. Did you get hurt?" Tyler asked ingoreing that she snapped at him.

"Tyler?" Elliot asked. She stood up and opened the door, her eyes red from crying.

tyler bent down so he could be eye lever with her. "What happened?"

"I tried to talk to Blake, he told me he didn't matter, he got mad at me and---and---" Elliot cried again, tears falling down her cheeks.
