The Redbird's story.

"Please don't cry." Tyler said softly. "Blake is Blake, you must learn that he is like that."

Elliot sniffled, trying to stop crying but she couldn't. She ran forward and hugged Tyler.

The hug was sudden and almost made Tyler fall backwards. He hugged her back.

Elliot cried into his shirt, not caring that she was messing up his clothes.

Tyler patted her back. "Will you be ok?" He asked gently.

Elliot nodded sadly, but said nothing. She had managed to stop crying, though.

Tyler smiled "you sould go back inside. your mom will be home soon"

Elliot nodded and pulled back. "Sorry," She said, seeing she had left tear stains on his shirt.

He laguhed. "It's fine. It's old. It was my dads at my age." His dad was 60.

Elliot nodded. "Thanks," she said, wiping tears away with the back of her hand.

Tyler stood back up. "Now back inside." He looked to the sky. "It will rain soon." The clouds were truning black.

"Okay," She said. "Bye, Tyler," she said, smiling now. She walked back inside.

Cora saw the clouds and began to walk back towards their cottage.

Tyler nodded and walked back toeards his home.

Blake sat at the table, his father teaching him how to tie knots in the rope agian.

Elliot closed the door behind him and walked to the kitchen.

Cora walked to their cottage and walked inside, closing the door behind her. She saw her father at the table with Blake and smiled at him.

"Hello, papa," she said.

"Hello cora." papa said as he once agian showed blake how to tie a knot. "Can you tell me why Blake won't talk?"

Cora looked at Blake for a moment then her father. "I don't know, papa," She said. She really didn't.

'He's probably just pouting from before,' she thought.

"Then do you know about his face?" Papa asked

"Layla threw a cat on him," Cora said.

Elliot's mom still wasn't home, even though she should of been by now.

Papa nodded. "Could you bring the clothes in before it starts raining?" He asked.

Cora nodded and ran outside. She grabbed the clothes and made her way back to the door, the large pile in her hands.

Elliot's mother walked in a few moments later. Elliot smiled and ran over to her.

Papa held open the door for cora.

Blake tryed again at the knot.

Cora smiled at her father and walked inside, setting the clothes down. She looked at Blake for a moment, who was trying to tie a knot again.

Elliot helped her mother make dinner.

Layla walked back to the cottage.

Sally walked next to her. They saw Cora bringing in the clothes they had washed when they were close to the cottage.

Blake tried again and again, failing each time. Papa showed him again.

"Cora? Do you mind if Blake sleeps with you again? Me and your mama have to /talk/." By talk he meant get yelled at in a hush tone.

Cora sighed.

'Yes, I do mind,' she thought.

"No, papa, he can," she said.
