The Redbird's story.

Sally stopped when she was infront of their mom. "Blake got scratched on the face", she said breathing hard from running.

Layla was still standing by the lake.

Blake grabed his rope and walked bacl home.

"And cora? What happened to her?" momi asked.

tyler laguhed. "Then who?:"

Sally shrugged. "I didn't see what happened to her, but I think she was splashed or something", she told her. "But Blake's face is bleeding from the scratch."

Elliot shrugged. "I don't know," she said, laughing still. She lay back down on the grass.

Cora quickly changed, and walked back downstairs. She walked by her sister and mom wordlessly, and hung her wet clothes outside along with the clothes she had just washed before walking back inside.

Mama followed Cora. "What happened Cora?"

Blake kept walking slowy towards the house.

Tyler chuclked and closed his eye again. He would soon fall asleep if not distruded.

Cora turned to her mother, her hair sitll dripping.

"I----fell in when we were washing our clothes," She lied quickly.

'Why am I protecting him? I should just tell her. No....'

Elliot closed her blue eyes, enjoying the peacefulness.

Tyler soon fell a sleep.

Momi nodded. And Blake walked in.

Elliot got up and stretched a few moments later. She saw that Tyler had fallen asleep and stifled a laugh.

Cora saw Blake and glared slightly at him before going back upstairs and into the room she shared with her sisters.

Layla showed up at the cottage with her pile of clothes and Sally's pile. She started hanging up the clothes.

Blake started to follow cora, but mama held him bak and told sally to feacth some water.

Tyler was a tad lazy.

Sally nodded, and grabbed the buucket and ran to the lake to get some water.

Cora went to her bed and pulled out her diary from under her pillow. She had never written in it before, but today seemed like a good day to start. She sat down on her bed and began to write, though her spelling and handwriting weren't very good.

Elliot sighed, growing bored.

"Tyyyyllleerrrr," She said, kneeling down next to him and poking him in the cheek again.

Tyler opened his eyes suddenly. "I wasn't sleeping." he lied.

Blake sighed and sat down.



((Cora is the only one in the family that could write.))

Elliot giggled. "Okay, whatever you say!" She said. "But play with me. I'm bored and the Redbirds aren't here yet," she complained, poking him again.

Sally lifted up the heavy bucket and started walking back to the house.

Tyler sat up and yawned. "What do you want to play?"

Elliot laughed and then shrugged.

"I don't know!" She said happily. "What do you want to play?"

Tyler layed back down and closed his eyes. "Come up with something before I fall asleep and I'll play with you." He said with a yawn.

Sally arrived back at the cottage and set the bucket down when she was infront of her mother.

Layla looked back when she heard Sally coming, tehn went back to hanging up the clothes.

Elliot sighed and sat in the grass, watching Tyler close his eyes. She poked him again.

Cora finished writing a few moments later and put the diary back under her pillow and peeked out the window.

Momi started to clean Blake s face.

Tyler opened one eye. "Why do you keep pokeing me?"

Ellioit shrugged. "'Cause it's fun," she said, poking him again. She giggled.

Tyler reached up and poked her. "Want to go find the redbirds? We could help them with their chores if they are busy."

"Kay!" Elliot said, glad to have something to do. Plus, she wanted to see Blake and the others. She stood up.

Layla kept hanging up the clothes she had hung up her pile of clothes already now she was hanging up Sally's pile.
