The big city.

Hymn finally turned to face him, and opened her mouth as if to say something, yet no sound came out. She turned back to the wall, and then finally back to Chris.

"I'm sorry," She whisperd. "I'm so sorry I didn't trust you. I didn't know---" she shook her head.

Ether just kept laughing. "I never liked this guy," She said, looking at David's now sleeping form. "Ashlyn talked about him to me all the time." She closed her mouth, looking at Mason as if she had just given away some big secret.

Raven grabbed her arm, as if sensing what she was thinking. "Don't do anything stupid," She said softly. "Sable...he wouldn't want that..." she said quietly. "And he's never going to be himself again, not the way I saw him," she whispered. "And if he is, he...." she shook her head, tears clouding her vision.

Laurinda looked up hazily as she was set on a couch. Ava looked at Lance, standing up. "What happened?" She asked, wiping away her own tears and giving Laurinda more room to lay.

Chris shook his head. "No, it's fine."

Mason glanced at her again. "What do you mean?" He asked.

Jade's eyes widened, and she nodded. "I don't know what to do." She said softly.

"She is sick." He said simply.

"What do you mean??" Raven asked quietly. Suddenly a thought came to her. "How long has it been since you've been human?" She asked.

"Ashlyn thought of me as a friend, of sorts, before you came along," Ether said. "Even though I only tortured her." She laughed.

Laurinda closed her eyes, no longer even protesting. Ava bit her lip and nodded. She put the back of her hand to the young girls' forehead and then pulled it back. She frowned.

Cora's breathing soon became low and even; she was asleep, but obviously not having a good dream from the pain on her sleeping face.

Hymn shook her head. "No, it's not," she said. "Chris, I didn't trust you. I'm sorry," she said quietly. "I----I should have. I don't know...." She cut herself off, looking away.

"Alittle over 120 years." Jade admitted, looking down, she rubbed her neck again, somthing she often did when she was thinking of her death.

Mason frowned, and nodded.

Lance disappeared, and when he returned he put a rag on her forhead.

Chris shook his head. "It's fine." He said. "I don't blame you."

Raven frowned. "But you can't forget how to live...right?" She asked quietly.

Hymn nodded, and stepped forward, only to flinch and grasp her side with her hands, biting her lip.

Laurinda looked up at him, blinking. "You're kinda like my guardian angel," She mused. "Everytime I get in trouble, you're always there," She mumbled. Ava was standing off to the side, watching with a small smile on her face, her memories of Nick washed away for the time being.

Ashlyn turned over in her sleep, and mumbled a name in her sleep. It sounded strangely like 'Mason', but one couldn't tell. Ether giggled.

Carlisle saw the look on her face with the little light in the room. "Calm down, I'm right here, I'm not leaving you." he muttered softly to her.

Jade shook her head. "Times change." She said. "I do not how make a living, I do not know how to work, I do not know what people of this time do." She said. "I do not know how to survive without depending on someone else."

"Hymn." He sounded so worried.

Lance laughed, and bent down and kissed her forehead. "Sleep." He said.

Maosn glanced at Ashlynn.

"I'm so sick of people thinking that fallens are lower than then..." Hymn mumbled. "We're all in the same place," She said. 'Yet most of them get their kicks out of torturing me," She grunted, lowering herself down to the ground, her side throbbing.

Raven frowned; she was right. "I can try to help," she said quietly. "But I don't know how...." She said slowly.

Laurinda's cheeks turned bright red. Why did he just do that? She frowned as she realized she was probably nothoing more than a little girl to him. But why did the thought bother her so much?

Ashlyn didn't say anything else, but Ether continued to smile.

"In a way, you're helping me," Ether said suddenly, looking at Mason.

Cora's face relaxed lightly, but not much. She heard his voice in her mind, but she wasn't sure if he was real or not in her sleep.

Chris smiled and touch his lips to the cheek with a brusie. "I won't let them mess with you." He said softly.

Jade shook her head. "I already been enough trouble to you." She said, softly, sadly. "I have to find a someone else to help." She said, who that someone else was, she had no idea.

"What do you mean?" He demaned.

"I'm not going anywhere." Carlisle muttered and with his free hand he removed the hair from her face before lightly brushing his fingers over her cheek.

Raven felt her tears returning, fresh as ever. "You know where to find me if you need me," She said softly, not pressing it anymore. She meant here; she was always here. She would remain here.

"I mean, why do you think she's doing this?" Ether asked, smiling her childish smile. "Running away? Rebelling? Going back to this guy?" She asked. "It's because she loves you," She said, giggling.

Hymn nodded slowly, closing her eyes. She had tears in her eyes, but refused to let him see them. She didn't want him to.

Cora opened her eyes suddenly, and when she saw him she relaxed slightly.

Laurinda's breathing soon became low and even; she was asleep. Her chest rose and lowered with steady breathes, but already signs of a fever were setting in. Her cheeks were red, though perhaps it was still from when he had kissed her forehead.

Lenora had fallen asleep with her head on Dust's shoulder, her cheeks still tear-stained. She didn't seem to be having a nightmare again, not with him this near.

"Well apparently sleeping won't do much for you." Carlisle said. He kissed her forehead lightly and smiled at her, "Just remember, I'm not going anywhere." he he meant that with every fiber of his being, he refused to leave her that easily especially if that meant the terror of her dreams came to life.

Jade nodded, and walked off in a random dirction. Little Jade had no idea what to do. Being human was something new to her, she wasn't use to it.

Mason looked at her, eyes wide. "Love me?" He asked. "Why would she love me?"

Chris stepped back. "Did anyone clean your wounds?" He asked quietly.

Dust was still whispbering claming things to her.

Hymn shook her head, looking up from her spot on the ground where she had fallen.

"No," She mumbled. "But it doesn't matter. I'll heal...eventually..." She said quietly.

Raven didn't know what to do; what to think. She felt like her entire world was crashing down around her. Her brother was gone; Jade was human. She was left all alone to face this on her own. She slowly sunk back down to the ground, and suddenly a thought came to her.

Sable was a fallen. She could easily become one; she just had to do what he did. She looked up, and saw a small boy run by her. She stood up, and a thought came to her. She wasn't a killer! No matter what her motivation, killing someone was unforigvable and wrong. She couldn't. She wouldn't.

She sank back down to the ground, her shoulders shaking. But now what? Her afterlife was meaningless now. She had no one anymore. She had never felt this alone.

Ether shrugged. "Beats me," she mumbled. "But I know she does," She grinned at him. "I can feel what she does sometimes....maybe it's part of being her demon, or maybe because I know her better than even you do." She was teasing him.

Cora nodded slowly. She moved closer to him, but didn't close her eyes again. She didn't feel that she needed to say anything; there was nothing to say. She felt like if she said anything, if she broke the silence, she would break down herself.

Chris ran his fingers through her hair.

Jade just kept walking.

"Shut up." Mason said, walking toward the bed and sittin on the floor next to her.

Carlisle sighed lightly and closed his eyes. As hard as he tried he couldn't even think about sleep, worry that Cora might break down consumed him. He opened his eyes once more and gave her a small smile, "Everything will turn out okay." he told her, "It would take more than a judgement for me to go awat and let anything bad happen to you."

Ether laughed, a high pitched giggle. "Why, am I annoying you?" She asked, sitting down next to him. "Maybe it's because you know I'm right," she pressed.

Raven could feel her heart breaking. She felt like she had nothing left anymore. Even Aden, who she knew she was slowly falling in love with, couldn't help her now. Besides, he wasn't even here. She pulled her knees upt her chest, her hair falling over her face as she continued to cry.

Cora couldn't help it anymore. She wrapped her arms around him, her shoulders shaking with silent sobs. She didn't want to think about tomorrow, not now, but she couldn't help it.

Hymn looked up at him, her eyes meeting his, but said nothing. She closed her eyes again, letting herself melt into his touch. She hated how everything hurt, but with him, it all felt better somehow. she couldnt' explain it, and didn't think she wanted to.

Ava made her way slwoly back upstairs, wondering where Blake was. She knew he had gone to see if Nick was still where he was supposed to be; she hoped he would be back soon. She wondered how Noah was doing. She owed him so much. She wanted to see him again, but visiting that realm also brough the fear that she would see Nick again. She sat down on the bed in the room that belonged to Blake, deciding she would wait for him here.

Laurinda didn't stir, far gone in sleep. She was getting too used to staying here, it seemed.

Carlisle stopped himself from wincing when her arms wrapped around him, his to body no longer mattered at this point. All the mattered was how wife, crying silently about tomorrow. "Don't cry, please don't cry." he begged because he felt tears of his own welling up.

"Shut up!" Maosn repeated. "I don't care if you're right."

"I don't like this." He said, a deepfrown on his face.

Lance sat next to her.

Ether giggled again, and shrugged. "Whatever you say," She said. She started to hum to herself, acting like a child as usual.

Hymn looked at the ground now, and shrugged. "This isn't the first time it's happened," she said quietly.

Laurinda opened her eyes suddenly, and looked at Lance. She sat up slowly, shaking her head.

Cora nodded, but couldn't stop the tears from falling. She realized she might be hurting him, still sore from what had happened with Damon, but she couldn't let go.

Carlisle teared up and no longer cared about holding them in. He tightened his grip on her slightly, holding her as close as he could, no longer caring about any pain.

Mason glarted over at her,

"But it will be last." He growled, there was a dangerous tone in his voice.

Lance frowned. "What's wrong?"

Hymn stoood up suddenly, ignoring the sharp pain in her side. "No," She said. "No, Chris. These are my fights, and I can handle them on my own. I don't need you to protect me." Her proud nature was showing again.

Ether ignored him. Ashlyn said his name once more in her sleep before falling silent. Ether grinned. "Told ya so," She said simply.

Laurinda shook her head. "I shouldn't be here," She mumbled. "I shouldn't...." she said, and stood up. The room spun and she fell back onto the couch, placing a hand on her forehead.

Cora closed her eyes tightly, willing the thoughts to go away. She didn't want this; she didn't want to cry and be sad over this, but she couldn't stop her tears. She just couldn't.

As Carlisle held her close a sudden jolt of pain went through his chest. He winced and gave small yelp. "Cora, I have to get up." he muttered as he felt something in his chest move.

Blake was isn't the curcus relm. At the last minute the judgement angels appeared, and took him to ehaven. He was glareing at them as they were explaining what he had to do.

Christ looked at her. "But I want to. I want to keep you safe."

Mason sighed, and touched her hand.
