The big city.

"Okay." Rose muttered before looking at the two men, "Bring him where he has to go, I'll take care of everything from there." she told them and they both nodded. Without any more words spoken she disappeared and reappeared in front of Lance's house. She still held Cora tightly as she spoke, "Do you want to talk to Blake?" she asked.

Bryce frowned, and stepped toward him. "This is my room." She said, not pulling her gaze from him.

Isaac looked away. "It was Damon, right? Who hurt Carlisle?" He asked trying to change the subject, as soon as the words escaped his lips he realized that might not of have been the best way.

Blake had been sitting silently outside since Lulu had wanted to talk to Lance. He glanced up when Rose and Cora appeared. "What's wrong?" His voice was tight.

Sable's head exploded in pain once more, as if he was pushing to get out himself. "I don't care," He said through clenched teeth. He looked torn.

Cora looked up, blinking through her tears as she saw Blake. She tried to stop her tears, but it was no use. She nodded simply, and pulled away from Rose, walking over to her brother in silence. She didn't say anything, just wrapped her arms around him tightly, crying into his shoulder.

Andrea nodded simply. "Yes," She said through clenched teeth and now, isntead of sad, she looked angry.

Bryce shook her head, and walked forward. "I don't care either." She said touching his arm. "I'm not scared of you." Somewhere deep in her she knew she should be, she should be running away. But she couldn't bring herself to.

Blake didn't hesitate to hug her back. "What's wrong?" He asked softly, looking at Rose. "What happened?" He sounded worried.

"I will talk to him." He said. "I want to know why." He said softly.

"Carlisle.... he...." Rose had to recompose herself for a second, "Damon finally accomplished his job. Carlisle is dead." she managed to get out the end but just barely.

In one quick movement Sable had her thrown against the wall, and he hardly looked like he cared. He just looked at her now, his eyes colder, if that was even possible.

Cora had quited down somewhat, and just now sit there in her brother's arms, staining his shirt with her tears. She closed her eyes tightly, as if wishing it all away.

"Does it matter?" Andrea snapped, knowing she was yelling at the wrong person. But she didn't care right now.

Bryce let out a scream of pain as she fell to the ground. Tears were in her eyes.

Kasper stood up suddenly. "That came from Bryce's room." He said, turning to the door. "That isn't possible, she is brain dead. He ran out of his room and in to the hall, to what use to be Sable's old room. He threw the door open. The walls were still black, his father saw no need to paint the walls of his brain dead cousin's room. But someone had turned on a light or two and opened a window to make it bright and open in here.

His eyes fell on Bryce, she was slowly sitting up. He was surprised by the that her eyes were alert, and not blank like they have been since the accident, or what he thought was an accident.

He turned to Sable. "Who are you?" He demanded. Then he got another surprise.

"His name is Sable." Bryce said. That was the first thing she said since she was seven, that was five years ago.

Blake looked away. "Oh." He said softly. "Did- did he get his wings? Do you know?" He asked. He held his sister tighter, stroking her hair, trying to clam her.

"Fine." Isaac said. "I won't. I just thought you want to know why your oldest son just killed you middle child for the second time." He retorted. He had a frown on his face.

"He did." Rose told him, she stood there awkwardly for a moment before speaking again, "Should I go?" she asked.

Andrea flinched visibly, and turned her face away from his. "Fine. Find out. But it won't make a difference. Carlisle is gone again, and it doesn't matter."

Cora was barely listening to their conversation, still crying. She felt safer here with Blake, but all she could think was that she missed Carlisle already, that he was gone, that she might not see him again. Sometimes it took years for those in heaven to awake; she knwe that.

Raven stood up and followed Kasper, a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach.

"What-" she began, and then she saw Sable. She leaned against the doorframe for support, her stomach dropping. "Sab-le," she whispered, looking at her brother, who didn't recognize her at all. She didn't even seem to realize that Bryce knew his name.

Sable looked at Bryce, then Raven, then Kasper before turning his gaze back to Raven. Something flashed behind his eyes, but was gone just as fast.

"You can talk?" He asked Bryce. She stood up and looked at Sable.

"Sable, what is going on?" She asked, looking at him. Her sandy brown hair had fallen out of it's messy ponytail. "What happened?"

Blake closed his eyes. "Cora, I'm sorry." He said suddenly. "I'm so sorry." He whispered. He looked at Rose. "Only if you want." He said.

Isaac frowned. "Love, he is in heaven, you will see him more I'll ever will." He said.

"See, you're not crazy, Kasper," Raven whispered. "He's dead, just like me. That's my brother."

Sable flinched, and took a step back hearing that word. "My name isn't Sable," He managed to say.

Andrea just nodded. "But he shouldn't be dead," She said quietly.

Cora still didn't look up. She just clung to her brother tighter, more tightly than she ever had before. It was strange to think how little they got along in life, but now she clung to him as if her very life depended on it.

Rose shook her head, "I am not leaving her unless I have to..." she told him, "Not until she is okay."

"That could be a very long time." Blake said softly. Cora was starting to hurt him, but he said nothing. He closed his eyes, and kept her close. He suddenly regretted all the stuff he said and done Carlisle, but it was to late to take it back. To late...

Kasper frowned. "Why is he such a jerk?" Kasper asked. "Why does he have to throw my cousin around?" He asked. "And when isn't my cousin brain dead?" That was directed at Bryce.

Bryce paid him no mind. Her eyes were wide as something snapped together. "Alexavier, is that what you think it is?" She asked.

Isaac sighed. "Everyone dies sooner or later. It's just bad luck that his is always sooner."

"Bad luck. Right," Andrea said quietly. She looked up at her husband, and reached up a hand, touching his cheek. She looked like she wanted to say something else, then shook her head, letting her hand drop. "You should go now," She said simply, quietly.

Cora's cries finally quieted down, and she was silent in her brother's arms. Her eyelids felt heavy, and after a few moments of silence, she had fallen asleep, cried herself to sleep.

Sable blinked. "I don't think it is, I know it is," He snapped. Raven took a step towards him, eyes wide.

"Sable," She whispered. He glared at her. "That's not my name!" He shouted.

"I know." Rose muttered, "Since Damon did it I feel like I should be there... At least when I can be." she told him. She soon realized Cora was sleeping, "She's out by the way."

Blake looked at Rose. That was his brother?" He asked, looking down at his sister. "Why would you feel guilty for what he did? It's not like you told him to kill him." He looked back at Rose. "Yes, I can see that, thank you." He still didn't let go. "When we were little I would often have to share one of sister's bed. I always choose Cora's. I always claimed it was because she was so full of hot air that she was the warmest. It was really because she made me feel the safest. Layla was Layla, always kind of scary, and Sally was strange to me. It didn't matter how much Cora seemed to hate me, she always made me feel the safest." His voice had soften. "I want to return the favor." He said, his arms still wrapped tightly around his sister.

Isaac was about lay his hand over her's when her's dropped. He looked down at her. "I should." He said softly, and stepped back,, but he didn't leave just yet.

Bryce Shook her head. That was when Clara reappeared with the blank Jade in tow. Bryce froze. There was something familiar about her.Clara smirked. "Oh, your already here." She said to Kasper. She turned to Sable. "Alexavier, this is your new charge." She said pointing to Kasper. "Please don't kill this one to soon." She said. "I'm running out of empty bodies."

Bryce was staring at Jade. She took a step forward reaching out to her. Jade didn't even noticed. But Clara did. She grabbed Bryce by wrist. "Don't brother." She said. "It won't work." She said.

"Damon is the man I love... His mistakes, whatever they may be, are part of my life. I correct what he does..." Rose told him. She took in what he said and nodded, "I understand... I want you to know something..." she muttered, "About Damon's original plan..." she stopped for a moment. "I went after him after the ambulance left and he told me what he was there for... He was after Cora. Carlisle stopped him and died instead..."

Cora kept her arms wrapped around her brother, and even in sleep her grip didn't loosen. It was as if she needed him to keep her from her nightmares running wild in her mind. Even in her dreams she saw Carlisle's body, his blood still staining her dress.

Andrea just nodded. She wanted nothing more than to run forward and wrap her arms around him, kiss him, beg him not to go. She bit her lip and looked away.

Sable looked at all of those in the room, that flash of recognition in his eyes again. He flinched at another pain in his head. He shook his head, and then disappeared.

"Sable," Raven whispered, but he was gone. She looked at the blank Jade, her eyes wide. "Jade?" She asked quietly, taking a step towards her.

Blake had been looking down at Cora's face. His head snapped up. "Why would he want to kill her?" He asked, clearly worried for the safety of his sister. He held her closer. "Does he still want to her?" He asked keeping his sister close, as if to protect her.

Isaac sighed as if he wanted something. He reached out touch her cheek, nut instead he disappeared.

Jade didn't look at anyone.

Bryce glanced at Raven when she said the name that she was sure belonged to her. "What?" Her tongue slipped.

Clara laughed. "Be careful Bryce." She said.

"iI don't know why... I didn't care to ask... But he spoke of Cora making Carlisle weaker awhile ago, that could be it..." Rose told him, "As for wether of not he will try again, I don't know. If he was trying to make it so Carlisle wasn't weak than he shouldn't come back. If he wants to do the intended job though, he will try." she thought out loud. "That is why I can't leave her alone, for fear that Damon will do his worst and go after her. I let my guard down once but I'm not going to let that happen to her, Carlisle would habe furious once he awoke to find out she died."

"I have a feeling that we'll see him again, soon even. He wouldn't leave Cora alone unprotected, not even in death, it's unlike him to do so." she told Blake, "I just hope she can last as long as it takes for him to return."

Raven blinked, and turned to Bryce. "...Jade?" She asked. Then she looked at the familiar face of Jade. She glared at Clara. "What's going on?" She demanded.

Cora whispered something in her sleep, that sounded like Carlisle's name. Her arms loosened their grip on her brother slightly.

Clara smiled. "Nothing." She said. "jade just loved your brother so much that she sold her heart. when he killed her, so he could see what he had done with sane eyes. Jade's brother and sister ate Bryce's soul, so now she is fixing her siblings damage."

Bryce looked away. "I don't remember siblings." She said.

"Of course, I didn't want you to."

Kasper glared at her. "What is going on?"

Blake shook his head. "Do you think I'm going to let my sister out of my sight? I need to protect her. Plus do you think going back to that house would be any help?" He asked. He stroked Cora's hair.

"I under stand that he might be back, but until then, I want to protect her. "

Dust appeared in James' living room, and fell to his knees. He looked defeated.

"Why else would I bring her here, Blake? I can't let Damon anywhere near her until I figure out his plan, this is the place I know she will be safe because of you." Rose told him, "Just promise me that while I am out hunting down Damon to know why be did this that you will protect her. I know it seems like a lot because of your charge and all but I know with you taking care of her that she'll be safe and I don't have to worry." she said, "At least protect her until Damon is gone and she will be okay again or until Carlisle returns to protect her himself"

Lenora jumped up when Dust appeared. She knelt down next to him, eyes wide and panicked. "Are you okay?? Where have you been?" She asked quickly, placing an arm around his shoulder.

Raven shook her head. "I...don't understand," She said quietly. She took a step back. She closed her eyes tightly, trying to shake the image of her brother.

Cora didn't move now, but her face told that she was having nightmares.

Dust shook his head, and wrapped his arms around her. "I went looking for Jade." He said. "She is a demon now, because Sable, she didn't even recognize me." He cried. "An unknown." He said.

Kasper suddenly touched Raven's should. "Are you okay?" He asked.

Bryce looked away.

Blake held Cora closer and looked at Rose. "Of course I will protect her." He said simply.
