The big city.

"I'm her mother!" Andrea shouted suddenly. "I can't just stand by and watch her hurt! I don't care if she dislikes me for it, or even if she hates me for doing this! I love her, and I will!" She turned away form them then, looking at the goddess. "Please," She said, hardly believing that she said that to the goddess of death. "Now. Please."

Laurinda shrugged. "They made me start school again," She said, twirlinig the spoon in her hand. "I'm way behind my grade level now, apparently," She mumbled glumly.

Chip was walking down the street, his hands shoved into his jacket pockets. He didn't even look at Mason as he appeared, and only walked faster.

"Can you blame me?! Look at her face and you'd feel the same!" Damon shouted, he was refering to Annabell.

"You're hurting me more now then being a Fallen ever will... At least when it's me I know everyone will be around... If I'm an angel again you will all just go on the way you did before we met up again..." the small girl was on the verge of tears, her lower lip quivered as she spoke.

Isaac looked at Andrea. "Andrea, he's right, they are both right." He said softly.

Link frowned. "Who's fault is that?" He joked quietly. "Did they drop you to a lower grade level?" He asked.

Andrea turned her face away from him. She slowly nodded, but said nothing else. "I only-" She began, but didn't finish. She closed her eyes tightly, struggling to hold back her tears. She somehow managed. She looked at Isaac now, hardly believing what she had almost done. She felt disgusted with herself.

Laurinda frowned, staring down at the spoon once more. "No, not yet," She said. "But they said they would if I didn't bring my grades up." She frowned. "But, it doesn't matter now," She said. "Since-" She didn't finish. 'Since I left again.'

"Now please, take Annabell and go back to Carlisle's. Him and his wife are worried sick about you guys." Damon pleaded.

Annabell dried her eyes on her dress lightly.

With a final glare at his oldest son, Isaac turned and picked up the young-looking Annabell, and garbed his wife's hand. Quickly he disappeared, reappearing in the living room of the Moore's. He looked at Andrea, saying nothing, not yet putting his daughter down.

Lance frowned. "You should study harder.' He said.

"Yeah, I know," Laurinda mumbled. But the truth was, she didn't understand any of it. That was why, but she didn't say. She twirled the spoon around in her hand again in silence.

Andrea pulled her hand out of Isaac's as soon as they appeared back in the house. She stared down at her feet, suddenly feeling horrible about herself. She took a step back from them both, mind racing. She had tears in her eyes, and a single one slid down her cheek.

Carlisle heard someone downstairs and swiftly crossed the room, he bound down the stairs quickly and relaxed once he saw it was his family. "Thank god..." he muttered as he saw it was all the same. He then saw his mother crying and frowned, "Everything okay?" he asked.

Annabell buried her head I'm to her father and cried.

"I am going to go now!" Damon said to the goddess before she had the chance to punish him. He disappeared and reappeared with the rest of his family.

Isaac said nothing. He was known for making things worse. He just held his daughter close, and stared at Carlisle.

"Hmm." Lance said. "You know I can help you if you like."

Andrea closed her eyes tightly, willing herself to stop crying. "Everything is fine," She said to Carlisle, looking at him and Cora, who had run down after him. Andrea was known for hiding her own pain for the sake of her family, though she doubted they knew that. She had been fairly good at it throughout her entire life, and now was no exception.

She had only wanted to help, and now she had only hurt them worse. She took another step back, refusing to let another tear fall. She saw Cora looking at her with worried eyes, and smiled at her. If Cora hadn't seen the others, she thought, she would have believed everything was ok.

Laurind blinked in surprise. "But...it doesn't matter now, does it?" SHe asked. "I mean, unless you wanna drag me to school with you," She mumbled, staring down at the tub of ice cream again, twirling her spoon in her hands nervously as she did so.

Carlisle frowned wider, "If you're sure..." he muttered, he knew things weren't okay but decided not to question his mother.

Annabell had cried herself to sleep in her father's arms.

Damon just stood there frowning.

Isaac frowned. "Every thing is wrong." He mumbled softly, as to not to wake his daughter.

"That can be arranged." Lance smirked, taking a bit of the ice cream.

"You won't get teased for hanging out with a sophomore?" Laurinda teased him, taking a spoonfull of the ice cream and looking over at him, a hand under her chin, the other holding the spoon.

Andrea took one last look at her daugher before turning away. She walked to the front door in silence and stepped outside. She closed her eyes, sitting down on the front porch. She wouldn't go back to hevaen, not until she was sure that Isaac would leave Carlisle alone.

Cora looked at Carlisle once his mother was gone, saying nothing.

Carlisle sighed lightly, "I know..." He muttered.

Damon frowned and walked outside after his mother, "So, when are you going to stop hiding your feelings? Carlisle and I are old enough to handle it and Annabell is more atune to it then one would think..."

Link shrugged. "Who ever teases me gets punched in the face.": He said.

Isaac walked over to the sofa, laying the small girl down.

Laurinda choked on her ice cream with laughter. She looked at him. "So, what would you do if I teased you?" She asked suddenly, a small smile turning up the corners of her mouth.

Andrea looked up at Damon, her face revealing nothing. "I don't know what you're talking about," She said finally, turning away from him and looking up at the sky in silence.

Damon let a small growl escape his lips, "Of course you don't because if someone got passed your wall of protection it would be the end of the world." he muttered.

Carlisle muttered, "What happened down there?" he asked.

Annabell whimpered lightly as he father set her down.

"The goddess was playing a game." He said. "She sent Andrea back in time to kill me." He said. "If she did Annabell would be returned to normal. She didn't, she wouldn't tell me why, so instead so offered herself as a trade. I ended up trying to take her place, Damon wouldn't allow it." He said quickly, stareing at him.

Link leaned across the table. "Would you like to find out?" He asked.

Cora was silent, staring at her feet and averting her gaze from Isaac and from Carlisle.

Andrea glared at Damon. "You don't know what you're talking about," She said, but her voice shook slightly. She turned away, trying not to show her face to him.

Laurinda blinked and involuntarily leaned back a bit. "Um," She said quietly, suddenly very aware of everything around her. She didn't say anything after that, and just looked at him.

"He actually did it... impressive, it wasn't a total waste..." Carlisle muttered.

"Oh really, then why don't you tell me about what I don't understand?" Damon pushed.

Isaac frowned. "He pinned me to a wall...." He said, a look of anger passed over his face. "He needs to learn how to make up his mind. He was going to let her do it."

"Do you?" He asked, a playful tone in his voice.

"You don't understand!" Andrea shouted suddenly, turning to face him. "What it's like to watch your sons have to do things like you were forced to do, while you sit on the sidelines and can't do a thing about it! To sit around and worry about them every second you can't see them!" she knew she was being stupid, but now she couldn't stop. "You don't, and you never will! I felt utterly useless my entire life!" She shouted. "And I didn't want to make things worse for any of you with my stupid blubbering, so I didn't," She snapped. "And I don't want to now, either. I finally tried to do something right, and I only made things worse. That's what you don't understand, Damon," She said, her voice lower but still loud. "That's what."

Laurinda slowly nodded. Her muscles relaxed, and she stopped feeling so tense. "Sure," She said, looking at him, her smile slowly returning.

"True, but no one asked you to shut out your emotions so we could do our jobs, in fact a bit of normal family drama might have been good for us." Damon muttered, "We all care for you, mom. We want to know that you are okay." he looked at the sky for a moment, "And Annabell just wants everyone to stop fighting, that was her problem with it..."

Carlisle frowned, "Damon died so mom could live as she wanted, he still wants that for her even if it is the wrong thing to do. At least he realized it before it got to that."

Isaac looked away. He said nothing. He was thinking.

Lance leaned forward, as if he was going to kiss her lips, but then suddenly kissed her forehead.

Laurinda closed her eyes tightly, jumping when she felt him kiss her forehead, and somehow managing to bump her head against his. "Ow!" She said, leaning back and rubbing her forehead, which was turning red already.

Andrea was silent now, and turned her back on him. "I'm fine," She said through clenched teeth. "I've always been fine. It doesn't matter now. Nothing does."
