The big city.

Mason nodded and picked it up and reached for the salt.

Jade smiled, softly and stood. "I'm sorry about that."

"Putting togeather a bomb." She said simply.

Issac didn't say anything for a moment. "I don't know." He said simply.

Ashlyn slapped his hand, pulling the salt away.

"No salt," She said simply.

"Uhm....why?" Ava asked, watching her closely.

"It's alright," Sable said quietly. "Say, you said you'd show me that tree, right? Can we now?" He asked.

Raven hadn't moved from her sopt behind the house, still staring at the grass.

Cora was finding it harder and harder to remain silent.

"How could you not know?! YOu do have a functional thought process right?!" Carlisle shouted louder.

Rose tried to calm him down but it barely had an affect on him at this point.

Issac was frowning. "Prehaps not, maybe that's were you get it from." He said.

"Uh why?" Mason asked.

She pointed to the Crow, which she had just been sleeping under. "Yes." She said. "Not very many people come here."

"Because." Chance said. "I'm bored, and it's what I do."

Carlisle's face sank and he went pale. His fist loosened and the one holding Cora's dropped hers.

Ashlyn just shrugged. She was far too stubborn to admit that she cared about his well being.

"Right...." Ava mumbled. She sighed, and looked around once more.

Sable looked at the tree with great interest. He just nodded at what she said, not once looking away from it.

Cora was losing the fight with her anger now.

"It was nice to meet you, but I think it'd be best if you left now," She said through clenched teeth.

Mason also shruged, and ate thwe pizza without the salt.

Issac looked at Cora. "It is sad that I did not get to speak to you." He said. "I must say I grown quite bored here." He said before he disappered.

"Luke is somewere reading." She said.

Jade yawned, her eyelids were heavy.

Carlisle sank to the ground, his knees had buckled. "I hate him..." he mumbled under his breath.

"Yes, a shame indeed," Cora mumbled under her breath once he was gone. She quickly knelt down next to Carlisle. She placed a hand under his chin to make him look at her.

"Hey..." She said softly. "It's okay."

Ashlyn watched him as he ate, saying nothing. She was thinking, a rare occurance for her.

Sable smiled lightly at her.

"Do you want to go back?" He asked, finally looking away from the tree.

Ava nodded, and stood up and started to walk around again, looking for Luke, or anyone, really.

"I don't understand why they do this. They insist on seeing me but then they criticize everything... Why do I even try?" Carlisle mumbled. He held her gaze for a second but then turned his eyes down again.

Rose still sat on the couch, not using her powers. She had to learn that people had to cope with heir emotions and it was usually the job of a person's significant other to do the calming, she figured that out earlier when Cora's touch calmed him more than her power did.

Cora bit her lip. She didn't know what to say to him. She didn't understand it, either. Why they would act the way they did. It wasn't right.

"I don't know..." She finally hedged. "But I know that you should never give up trying. There's got to be /something/ under there, a part of them that you can reach. You just can't give up, okay?" She whispered, looking at him, though he refused to hold her gaze.

Jade nodded, she was already falling asleep.

Pandora ran acrossed Ava's path.

Mason soon finashed eating. "What's wrong?"

Carlisle still wouldn't meet her gaze. "If that is what you wish then I will try." he told her.

Sable smiled lightly, and picked her up before she could protest.

Ava stopped suddenly, and blinked in surprise. She ran after Pandora, calling her name.

"Nothing," Ashlyn said simply, as the waiter came to collect their plates. She set the money out on the table, along with a tip, and then stood up.

"Ready?" She asked simply. She was acting different than earlier. More reserved than usual.

Cora sighed.

"Trust me, please," She said quietly. She placed a hand on his shoulder, but felt it wasn't doing much good. She bit her lip again and stood up, releasing her hold on him as she did so.

As her hand released Carlisle's shoulder his hand shot up and grabbed hers, "Of course I will." he finally looked up at her, looking at her eyes, "I always will." he added

Cora smiled softly down at him, and nodded. She helped him to his feet before wrapping him in a tight hug.

Carlisle wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly as well.

Rose sighed happily before disappearing from her spot on the couch.

Even when she was fairly sure he was okay, Cora still didn't release her hold on him. So many thoughts were swirling through her mind, and she didn't want to be left alone with them, for then she would see just how badly things really could turn out.

Jade had already fallen asleep by time he had picked her up.

Dust was looking around for Lenora.

Mason nodded, and followed her.

Pandora stopped and truned around.

"What now?" Carlisle murmured, still not letting her go. The fingers of his right hand absentmindedly played with her hair.

Cora just shrugged, saying nothing. She had closed her eyes, and was just standing there now.

Ashlyn stepped outside. It was late now, and darkness had already fallen. She started walking back to her apartment.

Ava stopped, and waved nervously to Pandora.

Sable disappeared, reappearing in James' living room.

Dust looked at Sable. "Have you seen Lenora?"

Mason fllowed.

PAndora waved back. "Hello."

"Hmmm..." Carlisle sighed. He was content just being close to her and nothing else was needed.

**THREE DAYS LATER***

Sable was sitting out back, trying to talk to Raven. She hadn't said a word in these past three days, and he was worried about her. That combined with his worry for Lenora, who hadn't showed up in those three days. He sighed, putting an arm around his sister's shoulder, who let him, but still said nothing.

Ava was doing her job, for once.

She was in the Dark Caverns right now, with a letter to deliver to Elliot from Cora. She was trying to get her mind off of Blake. She figured that he didn't want her back, not that she could blame him, and she was trying to forget about him. It wasn't working very well.

It was around noon, and Ashlyn was sitting on her bed with a bowl of ice cream. She had given Mason one, too, and was eating slowly, watching the news, though it kept cutting in and out.

Lenora was in the heart of the city, sitting on a city bus bench, looking depressed. She couldn't stop thinking about her father, and though she felt bad about leaving James and Dust and Sable and the others without a word, she needed time to think. And she had her pendant, in case James needed her, and so far he hadn't.

Cora was sitting on the couch, watching TV. It still fascinated her, though she had bigger things to think about now. Her wedding was coming up soon. She had asked Melody to deliver a message to Elliot and Tyler, inviting them. And that was what Ava was doing in the Dark Caverns.

Carlisle sat on the bed. He was reading a book to calm his nerves, not really retaining what he read.
