Lance pulled out bread, jelly, honey and peanut butter. He made himself a PB & honey sandwich and hand her the butterknife.

Carlisle finished and turned around to face her. "Just don't think about it, Cora. Rose is being foolish about this whole thing. I'm sure she feels bad about it too." he said.

Rose sat under a tree in the park. She felt bad about what she had said. She considered Cora a friend and she didn't deserve that, even if she didn't like Damon

Laurinda took the knife, and made her own silently. She hadn't made her own meal in so long; it felt almost strange.

Lenora looked at James, smiling slightly, then glared at Layla.

Cora shook her head. "It's all fine," She said quietly, sitting down on the edge of the bed.

"Cora..." Carlisle said as he sat down beside her. He resisted the urge to hold her and kiss her because she was unhappy, "Perhaps I should have made them leave..." he thought outloud

Lance bit into his, silently.

Laurinda, however, ate quickly. She hadn't eaten much beofre she had gotten here once again.

Cora shook her head. "It's nothing, really," She said. "I'm fine. I promise."

Lance smirked, and handed her a bag of chips.

Carlisle sighed but didn't speak

Rose suddenly stood up and disappeared. She reappeared just inside the door to Cora and Carlisle's bedroom. She looked at Cora apologetically, "I'm so sorry... I was angry and out of line. I hope you can forgive me for being stupid." she said.

Cora shook her head. "You don't need to apologize," She said quietly. She knew that she should be the one apologizing, but she still didn't understand how she could feel for that man. Not after all that he had done. But then a thought came to her; what had Carlisle done as a demon?

Laurinda grinned sheepishly at him and took the bag. She soon finished her sandwich, and began to eat the chips, slower this time, so as to avoid a stomach ache.

Soon Lance had a glass of water sitting in front of her.

Carlisle looked at Cora with a raised eyebrow and then back at Rose.

Rose nodded and walked out of the room.

"Everything okay?" Carlisle asked.

Laurinda finished the glass of water quickly, and set it down. "Thanks," She said quietly. "I didn't know how hungry I was."

Cora nodded. "Fine," She said quietly. She was thinking about what he could have done now.

Carlisle looked at her concerned, "Want to talk about?" he knew something was up but didn't know what it was.

"When was the last time you ate? Before now?" Lance asked, worry in his voice.

"Besides the occasional pretzel bag?" She asked. ".....a few days," She finally decided on. In all honesty, she didn't know.

Cora looked at him. "When you were a demon..." She said slowly. "Did you ever kill anyone?" She whispered.

Carlisle thought about how long he had been one and the finally spoke, "The closest to killing someone I had got while I was a demon was when I stabbed Lenora, you know how that ended." he told her, "I lived a life full of death, even as a demon I didn't want to kill..." he added. "Would you love me less if I said yes?" he asked suddenly.

Lance frowned. "That isn't good." He said.

Cora quickly shook her head at his question. "No," She said quietly. "I wouldn't."

Laurinda frowned. "I can't help it," She said. "All the food I eat is....stolen," She mumbled.

Carlisle sighed in relief and suddenly couldn't contain himself, he brushed his hand against her check softly. "That's good to know." he mumbled happily. He scooted closer and kissed her softly.

"That, Lulu, isn't good ehtier. "When you leave will you please take the money?" He asked.

Cora kissed him back softly. She had missed him so much; she didn't ever want to lose him again, especially not now.

Laurinda shook her head. "I can't," She said quietly.

Carlisle's lips left hers to travel her jaw line but they quickly made it back, "I love you so much." he told her before kissing her lips softly again, he pulled away once more, "Don't leave again, okay?" he asked her.

"Why?" He asked. "Why can't you."

Cora nodded slowly. "Never again," She said quietly. She closed her eyes, and wrapped her arms around him.

"I just....can't," Laurinda said. "I can't depend on others for things. I shouldn't even be here right now," She said quietly. "When I left home, I told myself that I would take care of myself from now on."

Carlisle smiled a crooked smile at her, "Good." he muttered before he kissed her softly again. His arms wrapped around her waist.
