The big city.

Nick smiled a strange smile, and just nodded. "Bye, Ava," He said, and disappeared. Ava was breathing heavily, and looked at Carlisle, then Damon.

"Thanks," She mumbled.

Cora's eyes met Carlisle's for a moment, and she reiststed the urge to yell and the urge to go and hug him. Instead, she finally found her feet and turned and walked back down the hall, disappearing from his line of sight.

Aden sighed. "Raven, do you really hate me?"

Jade looked away. "Yes, no, I don'y know." She said.

"It's about expressing you self." He said. He smiled. "When you kiss me one could say that is art, because you are expressing yourself."

Kindell spoke. "Jake will tell you crying in front of others is weak. I say that takes courge."

Blake and Lance were now standing atthe door. "What just happened here?" Lance asked.

"No problem." Damon said with a small, friendly smile.

"By demonic brother dragged me here because he heard a damsel in distress, as he calls them. And I managed to upset Cora by merely standing here." Carlisle said, "On the plus side, whoever was going to harm Ava didn't succeed." his voice was sad as he told Lance what had happened, "Now if you don't mind I should go because I shouldn't be here in the first place." he turned to Damon, who ignored him still.

Raven shook her head. "Yes," She said, then frowned. "No," she said. She sighed. "I don't know," she mumbled, looking away.

"Jade..." Sable said slowly. "Please tell me. Is something bothering you? You know you can tell me anything," he said quietly.

Hymn looked thoughtful for a moment, then nodded. She picked the chalk up again, and moved a bit to the left of the drawing. She bit her lip in concentration, and tried to draw. The only sound in the cave was the chalk scraping on the wall. Soon, she pulled it back, and laughed at her attempt of a drawing. It was a heart, but more than that. It had a small crack down the middle, but only halfway down. There were designs in the heart of wings and roses. It looked strange, but it had meaning to her. She wondered if he would understand it, or if he would laugh like her.

Elliot looked up at him, her eyes stained with tears. She finally stood up, and nodded. Her wings were throbbing agian, but she ignored it.

"You're a lot different from your brother, you know," She said quietly, wiping more tears away with the back of her hand.

Ava shook her head. "Nick was here..." She said quietly, simply adding to what they had said. Her hands were shaking.

Cora was back in the room now, the door locked behind her. She was sitting on the bed, knees pulled up to her chest, silent tears running down her cheeks.

Aden frowned. "Well tell me when you make up your mind." He said.

"You and Raven are fighting, but you use ywo be so close. It's my fault, isn't it?" Jade said softly.

Blake walked over to Ava. "Av, I'm sorry. I should of have been here."

Lance sighed. "That's nice, I can't leave my own house anymore, demons will come and detory it." He mumabled.

Chris bented down and kissed her cheek. "I see." He whispbered in her ear.

Kindell grined. "Beacuse I'm not him!" He sang hapily.

"Hey! I destroyed nothing!" Damon retorted, "Perhaps next time I won't be so nice!"

"Damon please, let's go." Carlisle said quietly, a tear slid down his cheek slowly. "We need to go before she comes back or before I go up there." he pleaded. His begging was ignored.

Raven groaned. "Fine, it's not your fault," She said. "But I....I don't know," She sighed, and looked away. Her lower lip quivered with unshed tears.

"How is it your fault?" Sable asked quietly. "It's not. It never could be. It's my fault, and Aden's. Not yours."

"Not your fault," Ava mumbled, but her hands were still shaking. She slid down on the couch.

Hymn glanced at him, smiling slightly. "I thought you would laugh," She said quietly, smiling.

Elliot laughed slightly through her tears. "Thanks," She said quietly.

Ashlyn got off at the next stop, and bought another ticket. Soon she was back on the subway, getting more and more tired with each stop.

Cora heard Carlisle's voice, and buried her face in her hands.

Lance rolled his eyes. "I had no idea demons could be nice." He said.

Blake sat down next to her. "Av, I'm going to find a way to stop him from comeing back."

Aden sighed. "I'll leave."

"Why?" He asked. He stood up, and looked at every drawing in the cave. "They kinda stand out a bit, huh?" He said looking at all the depressing ones.

He grinned again. "But don't let Jack fool you. He's a big softy."

Ava just nodded, but she knew he couldn't. She looked up at Carlisile.

"Cora misses you. You should go talk to her," She said quietly.

"Wait!" Raven said, turning to face him. She hesitated. "Um...nevermind. Go," She mumbled, as a tear slid down her cheek. She sniffled and wiped it away.

Hymn just shrugged, then nodded. "Yeah, they do," She said quietly. She set the chalk down and stood up, brushing her hands off on her black dress, leaving white marks. She didn't seem to notice.

Elliot shook her head, her smile gone. "No, I doubt that," She said quietly. "Jake could never be."

Ether suddenly showed up next to Ashlyn. She ignored her smile.

Damon frowned deeply at Lance. He stuck on arm out and knocked a lamp off a table, "Happy?" he sneered, "Let's go Lover Boy" he said as he walked out of the house.

"I'll be home in a bit." Carlisle said. He turned and walked up the stairs slowly, he then listened for the room where he heard someone in and knocked on the door lightly.

Lance galred, and mumabled something under his breath.

Jade looked at him. "But everything started because of me."

Chris smiled. "Nice change of pace."

Kindell frowned. "I grew up with the guy, he used to be scared of everything."

Cora frowned when she heard a knock on the door. "Who's there?" She called. But she had a feeling that she knew. She stood up and walked over to the door, and opened it. She stopped when she saw Carlisle.

"Wh---What are you doing here?" She asked quietly. "I think....I think you should go." But she didn't want him to.

Ava looked at Blake once Carlisle was upstairs, then quickly looked away. She was scared; so very scared, but she didn't want to tell him that. No, she wouldn't.

"That's not true," Sable arguged. "I don't know what I would have done if I didn't find you," he said quietly. "You've brought so much good into my life...well, afterlife," He said. "It's because of you I'm no longer a demon, it's because of you I even found Raven again in the first place," He said. "It's not your fault; you have to believe that," He said.

Hymn nodded. "It is," She said quietly. She looked at the chalk that still covered her hands, and walked over to him, wiping it on his cheek playfully, smiling as she did so.

Elliot looked at him, somewhat confused. "Really?" She asked quietly. She was still somewhat confused with all of this, but she was slowly understanding.

Ashlyn didn't know how much longer she showed up in her old town again. She was at least an hour away from where she lived. She walked up to the street, her bag over her shoulder. She looked up at the house she now stood in front of. She closed her eyes, and saw it as it once was. A neatly trimmed lawn, a young girl sitting on the front porch in her mother's lap, her father next to them. Her mother looked exactly like her; the same bright, curious blue eyes and the same long, black, flowing hair.

She opened her eyes, and saw the overgrown lawn, the broken down shingles, and the dark windows. She tore her eyes away and walked through the high grass and inside.

She went into the living room first, and closed her eyes. She saw herself squished in the middle of the couch with her mother and father on either side, laughing and watching TV together. She opened them, and it was just the empty room again, cobwebs and dust covering every corner of the room.

"Do you really want me to?" Carlisle asked, "Say the word and I'm gone but two months is way too long for my likings to go without you." he kept his voice from cracking, the thought of two months without her scared him more than anything. His face was filled with sadness but his eyes showed his happiness to see her, even if just for a moment.

Blake sighed. "Ava." He said, and shock his head. He fe;t hurt that she was keeping something from him.

Jade looked at him. Blue eyes wide. "I- you're right."

Chris grined. He wipped some off his cheek and put ot on the tip of her nose.

Kindell nodded. "And," He was grining, and put his finger to his cheek. "He used to be as cute as me to!" He was very child like.

Cora nodded. "I really think you should," Cora said quietly. "I--" But she was cut off my someone else appearing in the room.

"I can't take this atmosphere!" Lee yelled. "Sheesh. You two don't know what you have, do you? Come with me," She said, and took both of them by the arms and disappeared. Cora knew who she was; Lee. She recognized her, and she knew just what she did.

When they reappeared, Cora looked around. This definatly was not her past, so it had to be Carlisle's.

"Blake," Ava whispered. "I'm scared. He's different. I don't---" She cut herself off, shaking her head. "I don't know what he was going to do. He just showed up, and pinned me down. He...I don't..." She shook her head, all the things he could have done running through her mind.

Sable smiled slightly at her, and kissed her on the cheek. "I just wish I knew what to do, though," he mumbled.

Raven shook her head.

"I wasn't going to say anything. Just---just go," She mumbled, turning away from him again. She kicked the rock away harmlessly with her foot, refusing to look at him.

Hymn stuck her tongue out at him, a small laugh escaping her lips.

Elliot couldn't help it; she laughed, in spite of her circumstances and what she had just seen.

Ashlyn walked to the next room; it used to be hers. She could still see the lines on the door from where they had marke dher height as she grew older. She took a few steps into the room, her footsteps echoing off the empty walls.

Carlisle flinched as the town he lived in appeared before him. He knew what day it was, the day he lost Annabell and it was also the day his parents changed.

Knights rode past then on horses and halted in front of the house. Several went inside and after the sound of a struggle was heard. Several people were brought outside then, a small girl, a young boy, a women, and lastly a teenage lad in handcuffs. The family was read a decree before the small girl was brought forth.

Carlisle looked away, this was something he saw in his nightmares and didn't want to see now.

The younger Carlisle rushed forth to stop the ax from swinging at his sisters head bit he was beaten down by a man and forced to watch his sisters head roll away from her body. They then brought Carlisle up and just as the ax swung to hit him another knight rode up. He demanded the knights leave. With them they took the teenaged Damon, leaving Carlisle alone with his now spiteful parents.

Cora's eyes widened as she was forced to watch what Carlisle had only told her about. She felt her stomach turn as Annabell was brought down, and Carlisle tried to stop it. She closed her eyes tightly at the last minute, hugging herself tightly and trying not to look. She opened her eyes and saw her head, however, and felt tears streaming down her cheeks. She closed her eyes again tightly, shaking her head back and forth. When she opened them again, they were somewhere else.

Blake sighed. "I think you should stay in heaven for a while."

"Stop avoiding her?" Jade offered. "Talk to her?"

Aden sighed and disappeared.

He cut her laguh off, by kissing her.

Kindell's grin widened. "I can tell you all kinds of things." He said. "Like the day we went fishing, when we were five, and the fish pulled him in."

Carlisle locked his jaw tightly as he saw the next part of his life.

The teenaged Carlisle had by then joined his father and brother as knight. He hated every killing he committed, the ware showing an the young mans face as ifhe was beyond his years. He was had pulled up to a house and jumped off his horse. It was then that he was told by his father he was to be married, they then brought the girl forth, Carmen smiled brillantly at him, yet no smile or sign of care came from the teenage boy she was to marry.

Ava looked at him, and shook his head. "No," She said. "There's nothing for me there. I want to stay here," She said. "It makes me feel more......human," she said.

"She's avoiding me," Sable mumbled, closing his eyes. "She doesn't want to talk to me."

Raven sat back down where she had been before, burying her head in her hands. She wanted to talk to Sable, but she didn't. She waned to have someone here with her, but she wanted to be alone. She was so confused, and hated herself more than ever right now.

Hymn's eyes widened in surprise, but she didn't protest. She kissed him back gently, keeping her hands at her sides.

Elliot kept laughing now. She still had tears in her eyes, but now they were from laughter, not sadness.

Ashlyn moved down the hall, and passed her parent's room. She paused in front of it, then kept walking, the old floorboards creaking under her feet as she went.

Cora looked around and saw Carmen. She tensed up, but was silent. She had her eyes on the young Carlisle, her eyes and face impassive. She closed her eyes, and Lee took them to the next part.

Next scene was Carmen's burial a few years later. Carlisle stood there, looking almost the same as he did in the present. Except this one was saddened, not by the untimely death of his wife but by what he had experienced in life until that point. He stood there uncaring as they laid Carmen to rest.

Carlisle stood beside Lee, there was only one more major point in his life and it happened a few weeks after this one. He gulped loudly at the thought.

Cora's eyes widened with understanding as she watched. She shook her head, looking away. Lee looked at Carlisle, her face impassive. She sighed and took them to the last point. Cora was shaking her head; she didn't want to see anymore.

Carlisle stood there, sword in hand. He had been ordered to kill a disobeying knight. Little did he know someone had been ordered to kill him if he didn't do it. He turned around and a

Carlisle had a hand where he had been stabbed when he first lived, "Enough!" he said, he couldn't watch himself die nor did he think Cora should

Blake sighed. "Okay." He said. "But you have to stop hideing things. If yoou think you see him, you tell me." He said.

Chris pulled back. He was smileing.

Kindell grined even more, if that was possiable. He loved making people laughed. "Quell had to fish him out."

Elliot kept laughing. She finally managed to stop, and looked at the younger boy. "Thanks," She laughed.

"I'm scared," Sable said quietly, barely audible.

Hymn wrapped her arms around him tightly, though she was so much shorter than him.

Ava nodded. "I will," She said quietly, and she was telling the truth this time.

Cora cried out as she watched Carlisle being killed in front of her, and by his own brother.

"Stop...please," She whispered. Lee nodded, and they disappeared. However, when Cora opened her eyes she saw an all too familiar scene.

It was a younger her, around 6 years old. She and Blake were arguing in the fields; Sally and Layla were there too. Elliot was crying, and Tyler was with her. She smiled slightly at the memory; she didn't even know what they had been arguing about.

The next scene showed the young Cora in her home at dinner, when Blake slipped his sisters pieces of his food. She frowned and bit her lip as she watched it slowly progress, until she was 7. It showed Blake pushing her in the lake, and the panic in her eyes as he fished her out. She closed her eyes tighlty at the next scene; it was her father's hanging. They read off his charges; stealing. The young Cora was in front, her eyes dry. She was always a proud child. She didn't show emotion at all, especially not in front of her family.
