The big city.

"It's okay. I didn't expect you to stop because of me." Carlisle told her. "Sorry if I disrupted you."

"No, it's fine," Cora said quietly. "I was thinking about you, anyways," She smiled lightly at him, letting one hand drop to the table, keeping the other under her chin.

"About me?" Carlisle asked as he sat back up. He grabbed the hand she set on the table and smiled at her.

Cora nodded.

"Yeah," She said quietly. She smiled at him, letting her other hand drop and setting it on top of his that held her other one.

Carlisle grinned boyishly, "What were you thinking about me?" he asked.

"How much I love you," Cora said quietly. "And how amazing you are. How lucky I am to have you," She smiled lightly at him. "And how much I don't deserve you."

Carlisle smiled slightly, "I love you too. You are the most amazing person I've ever met. I'm ecstatic that you are mine," he stopped for a second, "and it is I who doesn't deserve you."

Cora let out a small sigh, looking down for a moment, then back at him.

"Regardless, I'm just happy you're here," She said quietly. She had still been worried about his future. Would they deem him worthy? She honestly couldn't see why not, but they had seen him worthy to judge, so her worry had been eating away at her with every single day that passed.

Carlisle watched her sadly but he kept his small smile. "Would you like to do something?" he asked, wanting to get her mind off what ever was making her worried.

Cora pulled herself out of her thoughts, and looked at him. She smiled and nodded.

"Yes, sure," She said. "What?" She asked, not really sure what they could do.

"Not sure really." Carlisle told her. The thought for a moment, "We could go for a walk" he suggested.

Cora smiled and nodded.

"Sure," She said, finally letting go of his hand long enough to stand up. She stretched, yawned, then looked back at him, smiling slightly.

Carlisle stood up and stretched, he smiled back at her and squeezed her hand lightly. "Let's go" he said walking towards the door.

Cora nodded and followed him silently. She found her mind drifting again, worry settling in her chest again.

Carlisle opened the front door and turned to face her, seeing her worry once again he frowned slightly. He choose to not talk about it, considering he had chosen to to worry about the future, just the here and now. He led her out the door and swiftly shut it behind them.

Cora looked around, taking a deep breathe of the fresh air. She hoped it would help clear her mind, if only for a little bit.

Carlisle silently continued to walk down the street wordlessly. He was trying to think of ways to get Cora to get her mind off the inevitable.

After a few minutes of silence, Cora finally spoke.

"Did Rose ever find your parents, do you know?" She asked quietly. She didn't mention hers.

Carlisle sighed, "Yes." He was silent for a moment, "They want to meet you before we get married." He added to her quietly.

Cora nodded.

"I'd love to meet them," She said quietly, though she sensed his uncomfortableness. She was quiet for a moment before asking. "Did they find mine?" She wasn't sure if she wanted to know.

"Yes, she did." Carlisle said, "They seem to be more accepting or me than my own parents." He was quiet for a few seconds "I'll have Rose get my mother, she seemed to be more interested in you then my father, who really didn't ask more than why someone would marry me." he grumbled the last part.

Cora stopped walking. They had found her parents. The thought of seeing them after so many years made her nervous and excited. She wondered what her father would think of her. He hadn't seen her since she was 6, after all. She frowned and hurried to catch up when she heard Carlisle's last part.

"I would marry you," she said quietly, with a small, somewhat goofy smile on her face.

Carlisle still seemed peeved, "I think he was implying I'm an idiot who doesn't deserve anyone's love." he snapped. He then realized who he had snapped out in his anger and looked at her apologetically, "Sorry for snapping at you, they just seem to like to point out how stupid I am." he said calmly.

Cora flinched when he snapped at her, but nodded.

"It's fine," she said, her voice soft. "And you're not stupid. They are, if they think that." She squeezed his hand lightly.

"Yeah, but they are my parents. What they think affects how I feel about myself." Carlisle let his vulnerability show through in those moments, sadness crossing his face.
