The big city.

"What's your name?" Josh asked. He was refering to her last name, but didn't think to say so.

Max stood up frowning.

He nodded. "Why?" He asked.

"Brianna Hancock," Brianna said, still watching him closely.

Elliot watched him, but said nothing. There was nothing to say.

Rose smiled at him "I have news of your daughter, Cora. She is human again," she told him, "And she is to be wed."

He glanced up at her. "Thats good to hear." He said smileing slightly. "May I ask, to whom?"

"An ex-demon named Carlisle." Rose said simply. "they love each other very much." she added before taking out an envelope containing the invite. "She would like you to come to it."

He frowned, "I will go." He said as he took the invitetion. "And I geuss if she is happy with a ex-demon."

"Very much so." Rose told him with a small smile. "I'd stay and talk but I have to go find someone else. Nice meeting you!" she turned and ran further into the Underworld until she bumped into Isaac.

Issac took a few steps back. "Hmm?"

Alice nodded and looked at Penny and ADrian who were off to the side now.

Lalya was still holding onto Penny and grabbed adrian and disappeared and went to the underworld.

Penny pulled out of Layla's grasp, but they were already in the underworld and frowned.

Adrian watched Penny.

"I'm sorry but I'm looking for the father of a demon named Carlisle. Perhaps you could help." Rose said quickly.

Issac frowned. "Why are looking for me?"

Rose frowned back "Your son is now human and is getting married." She passed him the envelope. "He asked me to invite you so now I have. I hope you will come." she said "Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go." she then disappeared.

Issac frowned at the invitetion wondering who would want to marry the moron, he called his son.



**Next morning**

Blake touched Ava's arm gently. "Av wake up."

Lance was already gone. He was was already heading to fair, with his anut, he was no longer happy.

Aline smiled at Brianna. "Happy brithday." She said. She was growing annoied with her brother.

Josh was still hugging Aline, but he kept looking at Ivy, with longing eyes.

James sat up and yawned. It was Brianna's brithday today, he would give her her gift.

Dust was siiting at the kicthen table. He had woken up early and had put Lenora on the sofa.

Jade woke up. She glanced over at Raven. 'Why is she here?' She thought, as she smiled at the sleeping girl.

"Thanks!" Brianna said, smiling. "Though I feel mostly the same," she laughed. Ivy kept glancing at Josh, glaring at him.

Ava woke up, and smiled, yawning.

"Morning," She said quietly. Everythingg seemed perfect.

Then she remembered what she would have to do later.

Raven mumbled something in her sleep, and turned on her side to face Jade.

Sable had watched his parents last night. Well, parent. Apparently his mom had died a few years after he and Raven did. He wasn't sure how to feel about this. She wasn't as bad as his dad, no, but she stitll hurt them.

Right now he was heading slowly back to James' house, his hands in his pockets.

Lenora was still asleep.

Cora was still asleep as well.

Aline smiled. "Do you want to vist James?" She asked.

"Get off." She said to Josh.

"As you wish." Josh said letting go and disappering.

"Morning. Do you still want to go to the fair today?" Blake asked.

Jade sat up and smiled at her.

Mason yawned and sat up.

Ava nodded.

"Definatly," She said.

*****THAT EVENING*****
Lenora was sitting in the living room, working away at the same drawing. She was almost done. Well, she was already done, but she was determined to make it /perfect/.

Brianna had already eaten dinner, and was sitting on her front porch, debating weather or not to go visit James. Ivy kept sending her thoughts that made her not want to.

Sable had come back, and told Raven about their mom. She had been acting strangely ever since then. Right now she was out back, staring intently at the ground. Sable was sitting upstairs, worried about her and watching her through the window in Kate's old room where Jade had been staying.

Cora was downstairs, watching TV.

Hymn was in the Underworld, looking for Chris again.

Melanie was still next to Warren.

Ashlyn was home, in her room. She had allowed Mason to stay, for reasons unkown even to her. She was wearing black jeans and a long sleeved purple shirt with a black tank top over it. She was messing with the metal bracelets she was wearing, thinking as she sat on her bed. Her father was passed out in the living room, yet again.

Ava smiled at Blake from her spot on the couch. She had had so much fun at the fair. But she hadn't been able to enjoy it completely, dreading what was coming now. She had her violin on her back, Angel and Demon next to her.

Elliot was back in the lone caverns, as depressed as ever. She hadn't seen Tyler for so long now, at least it felt like it. She wasn't sure how long it had really been. And after seeing Max, she was worried that she might run into Ellie. She didn't know what she would do then. She was in Jake's cavern, staring at the ground, tears in her eyes.

Dust was sitting next to her wacting the roof, lazily.

Jade sat on the bed, frowning. She didn't teach him how to fly yet, and she was worried about him and Raven.

James somehow fell back asleep that morning after wrapping Brianna's present.

Chris dozeing on his bed.

Warren was walking random places, draging Melaine. His big goofy smile on his face.

Mason sat on the floor next to her bedroom door. His jacket slung over his lap.

Blake looked at her confused. "Why is your stuff down here?"

Jake frowned. "In my time there was a myth if a lady showed her tears to a man, she would cruse her beloved."

Sable sighed as Raven didn't move. He turned to Jade, frowning deeply.

"AHA!!!" Lenora suddenly exclaimed.

Ivy kept sending her thoughts, that said James didn't care. That she was worthless, useless. Brianna sighed.

Melanie laughed and ran to keep up with him.

Soon Hymn came across his 'room'. She peeked her head in, and smiled slightly when she saw him asleep.

"How long are you going to stay?" Ashlyn asked suddenly, looking over at Mason.

Ava sighed, and stood up. Nick appeared them, invisible to Blake but not to her.

"It's time," He said simply. Ava took a deep breathe.

"I lied," She said to Blake simply.

Elliot looked up at Jake, glaring, though the effect was lost by her tears.

"I'm sure that would make you very happy," She spat.

Jade tried to smile, but fail. "What's
wrong?"

Aline sighed and touched Ivy's arm.

Warren smiled, he had no dead where he was going.

"Till you ask me to leave." Mason said.

Jake smiled. "Maybe."

"What?" Blake asked confused.

“I lied,” Ava repeated. She clenched her hands into tight fists at her sides. “I never liked you. I never cared for you. You’re---such a /fool/,” She said, looking him in the eyes. She didn’t want to say this. She never did. She hated this. She hated Nick.

She could still sense him standing behind her, so she pushed herself on.

“I never meant a word of it,” she whispered. She could feel the tears coming, but Nick came and touched her shoulder, and she went stone-faced again.

“You’re nothing more than a nuscience. An annoyance.”

Nick whispered something in her ear to say. She flinched, but continued.

“It’s no wonder Suki chose Jake over you,” She said. “It’s no wonder you ended up alone. You deserved it.”

She took another deep breathe.

“I hate you. I have since the moment I meant you. I hate you,” she said, her voice level. She sounded as though she were telling the truth.. “And I never want to see you again.”

She glanced at Nick, who nodded for her to continue. She turned back to him.

“You’re a fool,” She repeated. “You never meant a thing to me. It’s funny,” She said, adding a small laugh, a small, pained laugh. “That you believed me.”

Memories of all the fun they had had flashed before her eyes, and she struggled not to cry.

Nick whispered something else in her ear, and she turned back to him.

“I never meant a word of it. I was pretending. You were so easy to fool,” She said. “Such a fool…..”

She was looking him in the eyes this whole time. She wanted to look away, but she found she couldn’t. So she stood there silently, her face impassive, but crying on the inside.

She didn’t want to break him. She never did. She had finally opened up to someone. She would never have done that with anyone else. But she finally had, and now she was being ripped away from him. Why couldn’t life, even the after life, be easier? She had thought dying would save her from any more of this pain, but here it was, as fresh as the first time.

“I can’t believe you thought I would care for you,” she said. “I never did.”

Nick looked satisfied, so she was quiet once more. She blinked once, watching him carefully with her piercing green eyes.

"I'm worried about her," Sable said, gesturing to the window. "Raven."

Ivy glared at Aline, jumping back. Brianna smiled slightly at her.

"You're disgusting..." Elliot muttered, looking down again.

Lenora was grinning triumphantly at her drawing. It looked so much better now!

Ashlyn just nodded, and looked down again.

Blake’s face twisted in pain and hurt. He closed his eyes tightly as she spoke. “You promised.” His voice strained.

Suddenly he sighed. His eyes opened, they were cold and unreadable, his face no longer twisted in pain, it was now like stone, or ice. His emotions were unreadable now, and he looked even more vampire like. The he spoke again.

“I should have known, should have guessed. I was a fool.” His voice was indifferent. “I trusted you, and you betrayed me! No, you lied from the very beginning! I do not know what I was thinking. The weak are always used and broken, and words are empty and meaningless. And lies always hurt worse then a slap across the face, or a knife in the heart.” He closed his eyes, and then opened them again. “I told you every thing; I told you things I would have never told anyone.”

Inside he was crying, he was scared, and in he was in worse pain then he was when Suki had chosen Jake over him. Why was he so easily ripped apart? Why was his heart so weak? Why did he believe her when he knew oh so well, how much a broken heart hurt?

Suddenly he laughed; it was a cold and strange laugh, almost insane sounding. “I lost.” He laughed again, that strange laugh. “I give up.” He said. “I guess Cora was right when she always called me an idiot, and a moron. Because I must be if I thought you would be any different! If anything Ava Hope, you are the worst.” A creepy smile found it’s way to his face. “And you want to know something?” He asked stepping closer. “I don’t care anymore. I learnt my lesson. “No longer shall I give in to those feelings. The feelings that have the power to kill the dead!” He said.

She had made him so happy, and he had dared to believe that that happiness could last forever. What a fool he was. Now he was broken again, and he didn’t think he would ever be healed again. Someone once told him that the first time always hurt the worst, that the second and third time wouldn’t hurt nearly as bad. He wasn’t so sure any more if that theory was right. This hurt a awful lot to.

Although on the inside he was in pain, the out side his emotions were unreadable, and he seemed almost insane. Maybe it ran in his blood, after all Tyler went insane. And when he was little, about five, he over heard his parents talk about his grandpa, they said that he died after going insane. Maybe going insane was a family trait that was pasted down to the males in his family. It didn’t matter.

“Yeah, thanks, I had fun today.” He didn’t really sound thankful. “If you had told me this sooner I would have left you with Nick, last night.” That would have hurt him a lot less then this, if he had known she didn’t care for him, the he could have saved his heart this pain. Although, it did make perfect sense to him. He found himself agreeing with what Robert once told him. He didn’t deserve love. He was weak, powerless, and useless. He made matters worst. And he should just disappear. “He was right.” He mumbled.

Jade nodded. "It is hard fr a child to find out their parnet had died."

This only made him smile more.

Mason said nothing.

Ava remained silent during all of this. She deserved every word of it. But when he called her the worst, she could feel her heart split in two. The way he was acting now worried her. But what had she honestly been expecting?

"If that's all you have to say, I'll leave now," She said simply, gathering Angel and Demon up in her arms. Nick smiled.

"Goodbye, fool," She said simply, before Nick took her hand and they disappeared.

Elliot had started to cry freely now.

"But I don't understand why she's acting so strangely," Sable said quietly. "All our parents ever did was hurt us."

"Mine locked me in my room, and hid me from the world, because I couldn't talk, and the frouced me into marriage." JAde said. "But I too would be sad if something happened to them. They are the reason why I was born. Without them I would not exist." Jade said. "Prehaps its the same for her."

Blake blinked awa sudden tears, and he too disappered.

Jake frowned. "Please stop."

"W--Why should I?" Elliot stammered, the tears still coming.

Sable frowned.

"Maybe," he finally said with a small sigh.

Ava felt as though her heart had been torn out and stomped on, then ripped into small pieces again.


Why. Why was this happening to her??

She knew she couldn't fight. If she did, Nick would hurt Blake. But....But....

She was silent as she and Nick started walking from her old, abandoned school. She took one last look behind her, knowing she could never go back.

"Because it makes me sad to see you cry." Jack said.
